19Community

The Community is where OptyTrades members discuss trades, share ideas, and follow along with each other's wheel strategy in real time. It has two parts: a multi-room chat and a Trade Feed — a public stream of positions members have shared.

Chat rooms

Chat is organized into rooms. Each room has a different focus so conversations stay on topic:

RoomWhat it's for
GeneralBroad wheel strategy discussion, questions, and introductions.
Market BriefPre-market and intraday commentary. This is where Opty posts the daily market brief each morning.
Trade IdeasShare setups you're looking at. Tag a ticker and describe the thesis.
Assignments & CCsDiscuss assignment management and covered call strategy after being put to shares.
Off TopicAnything non-trading related — introductions, general chat.

Ticker linking

In any chat message, type $TICKER (e.g. $AAPL) and it automatically becomes a clickable link that opens the stock detail page in the screener. This makes it easy to share a setup and let others pull up the full analysis with one click.

Threaded replies

Click Reply on any message to start a thread. Threads keep follow-up discussion attached to the original message so rooms don't get cluttered when multiple conversations are happening at once.

Market Brief room: Check this room each morning before market open. The daily pre-market brief covers index conditions, VIX regime, sector rotation, and any notable setups in the wheel universe — all in a few minutes of reading.

20Direct Messages

The DMs tab on the Community page lets you exchange private messages directly with OptyTrades staff.

When the tab appears

The DMs tab is hidden until you have at least one conversation. Once a message has been sent to you the tab appears automatically — you don't need to go looking for it.

Unread indicator

When you have unread messages a red pulsing badge appears on the DMs tab showing the unread count. The badge disappears as soon as you open the tab.

Can't find the DMs tab? If you don't see it yet, you haven't received a message yet — the tab only appears once a conversation has been started with you.

21Trade Feed

The Trade Feed is a running log of trades that members have chosen to share. Unlike chat, the feed is structured — each entry shows the trade details in a consistent format so you can see exactly what was opened and why.

What a trade post includes

  • Strategy — CSP, CC, or Shares.
  • Ticker and strike / price — The specific position opened.
  • Expiry and DTE — For options: the expiry date and days to expiration at entry.
  • Premium or cost — Credit received (options) or cost basis (shares).
  • Notes — Optional free-text reasoning. This is where members explain the thesis — entry signal, IV rank, why they like the stock at this strike.

Sharing a trade

To share a trade, click Share Trade at the top of the Trade Feed. Fill in the details and optionally add a note. Shared trades are visible to all members — use the notes field to give context so others can learn from your reasoning, not just the numbers.

You can also share trades directly from the Trade Journal — open any position and click Share to Feed to post it with one click.

Not financial advice. Trade Feed posts are member-shared positions for educational discussion. They are not recommendations. Always do your own analysis before opening a position.
