A short text label pinned to a price and date on the chart. The reason you drew everything else, written where you will actually see it again.

A text label anchored to the spot you click — it stays with that candle and price through every range and interval change, and through every visit back to the symbol.

Arm it (N), click where the note belongs, type the text into the prompt. Keep it short — a label, not a paragraph; the chart's per-symbol Notes panel holds anything longer.

Universal mechanics: every tool is single-shot (it disarms after each drawing — the pin beside ✏ Draw re-arms it in one click), Esc cancels mid-drawing, clicking a finished drawing selects it for the ✕ Remove chip, and drawings persist per symbol, anchored to their candles.

The best chart notes are falsifiable: "thesis fails under 42", "volume dried up here", "assigned here 8/15". A note that states what would change your mind is doing analysis; a note that cheers is doing decoration.

Wheels run for weeks, and the reasoning at entry has a way of evaporating by expiry. A note at the strike when the put is sold — why that level, what invalidates it — is the cheapest insurance against re-deriving (or conveniently revising) the thesis later. The AI books journal every entry's reasoning for exactly this reason; notes are the manual version.
